Toys for Rides and Dickens Fair

On November 28th, we had a big day. We started the day at Toys'R'Us at the "Rides for Toys" event. That's the event where you get a ride in a fire truck if you donate a toy to be given out to kids in our area. As always, the kids had a blast!

Daddy stayed with Lucas, since he wasn't really old enough to come this year.

Then, after the "Rides with Toys" event, we went up to the Cow Palace in Daly City for the Dickens Fair with Alan, Gaoder, and Raina. We had talked about going in previous years, but this was our first time going. It was a lot of fun and the kids were really excited about it. The Dickens Fair is a Christmas themed fair based on the work of Charles Dickens and set in the streets of London.

Even Lucas was excited! :)

Some of the many characters dressed in Victorian style clothes.

All sacked out before we even got to the car.

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving, we were invited over to Alan, Gaoder, and Raina's house. We had all decided to try to have a low-key and easy Thanksgiving dinner this year.

Here's Chad's stuffing. It was a sausage, apple, parsnip stuffing.

The spread. There's my grandma's stuffing, pumpkin pasta, , and of course the apple pie in the back.

Here's Chad's stuffing and a tomato, potato, squash gratin

Lucas's first foods

In mid-November, Lucas had his 4 month checkup and we got the go ahead to start giving him some solid foods since he was really reaching for food and moving his mouth as he watched us eat. Just like his big brother, Lucas did really well pretty much from the start on his eating. He loved "helping" to get the food into his mouth too. Here are some photos and videos.

This first video is Lucas's first time trying any solid food. Daddy let him suck on a banana on 11/15/15.

Then on 11/23/15, Lucas had his first rice cereal (mixed with breast milk).

Lucas has a very tight grip on Mommy's hand to make sure that the food goes into his mouth (and not anywhere else!!)

Can't let the rest of the milk go to waste!
