Where I've been spending my time

I've pretty much been spending my time in the attic lately, trying to run cat6 to the important rooms in the house. It's a real pain, but I'm learning a ton.

Plus, see the dora diaper box that was "sealing" our coat closet from the attic insulation? :)

Cable jack

Rather than be lazy like the Comcast guy and have the cable awkwardly come in from the ceiling, I'm going to run coax down the wall into a proper wall jack. We're already in the wall to run cat6 anyway...

Cecilia's Tricycle

For her birthday, Grandma and Paca got Cecilia a tricycle and Aunt Megan got her a helmet. Cecilia loves her tricycle, but is still learning how to pedal. Mostly right now, she sits in it (typically with Abby or her doll in the front basket) and has Mommy or Daddy push her. Cecilia is also not so thrilled about her helmet, mostly because she doesn't like having things strapped around her chin. As you can see from the pictures, we cut a baby sock to put around the straps and the clip to make it a little more comfortable for her. I need to sew a
narrower tube and trim some of the excess though. It looks a little goofy right now.

Our roses

Our roses have been blooming for the past couple of weeks, but I kept forgetting to take any pictures of them. Cecilia likes looking at the "pretty flowers".

A new way to ride in carts

Cecilia does not like to ride in the normal seat in carts anymore. She
would much rather walk. However, since that frequently doesn't work if
I have a lot to get, we have started getting the big carts that have
toddler seats. As you can see, Cecilia enjoys these carts, I believe
in part because she faces forward, and in part because she can lounge
and put her feet up.

A train ride

When Grandma was out here for her visit earlier this month, we took
Cecilia on a train ride up to Menlo Park because Cecilia is enamored
with trains. I think Cecilia actually likes looking at trains more
than riding them, but she seemed to have a lot of fun.

Once we were in Menlo Park, we walked to a playground for awhile and
then rode the train back to Mountain View and said "hi" and "bye" to
all the "train people". Then we got to have lunch outside at a little
cafe with Grandma and Daddy. It was a fun day!

Oops!

On Easter Sunday, Cecilia was running around on the deck and
accidentally fell into the hedge. She was giggling and laughing like
crazy, so I took a couple pictures before getting her out.

At the Tied House

After a hard day of work in the garage, we are having a pre-Easter meal of meat, fish, and $0.50 beer. (It's the first period of the Sharks game.)

Cecilia enjoys Pinkberry!

Today Paca treated us to Pinkberry yogurt while we were running some
errands. Cecilia loved her original with blueberries and raspberries!
She also fed herself the whole thing!

Photos from the last few weeks

I haven't posted a lot of photos from the last few weeks, so I thought I would try to get caught up.

Cecilia loved her "Kiss me I'm Irish" shirt on St. Patrick's Day. We got to go to Cecilia's friend Maeve's 2nd birthday party on this day, which she really seemed to enjoy. 

The next day, it was Cecilia's 2nd birthday party! Cecilia loved her party and really liked getting to play with all of her friends.

On Monday (Cecilia's actual birthday), we took Cecilia to her 2-year doctor's appointment. She got to stand on the scale like a big girl, which she seemed to love. The appointment went well, Cecilia's pediatrician said everything looks good and Cecilia is right on track developmentally. Then, Cecilia had to have a shot, but was much more interested in the sparkly band-aid than the shot itself. 

 

Later that evening, we went to Gymboree with Aunt Megan. Cecilia went a little crazy while we were there, and was running around with a lot of energy! But she had a lot of fun and really liked when we all sang "Happy Birthday" to her! 

We had a little fashion show with some of Cecilia's new clothes. 

Then, Cecilia decided that she wanted to wear her dinosaur costume from last Halloween. It's a little short on her, but still sort of fits her. 

Then, we had to say goodbye to Auntie Megan, who had come out to celebrate Cecilia's birthday with her. Cecilia was sad to see her go, but really liked her trip up to SFO where she got to see planes, trains, and cars!

Cecilia got to wear a "pwetty dwess" to church on Sunday for Palm Sunday. 

Earlier today, we saw Shayla across the street at the school, so we went over to play with her. This is a photo of them holding hands on the way home. They are adorable together and always have a whole lot of fun!
