Workbench is done done

Three and a half ish coats of polyurethane and a power strip on the back and the workbench is done.

Now I'm ready for my next project. I'm trying to decide whether to make a shoe rack or learn to solder electronics.

A few more videos

I found a few more videos.

Cecilia explains how she is "texting" Shayla here.

Grant's mustache

For Christmas, Grandma Peanut got Grant a mustache pacifier. I just got him to put it in his mouth long enough to take a couple pictures.

Getting stuck in odd places

As Grant has started to crawl around, we are starting to find him stuck in odd places.

Playing on the bars at the park

Grant has been wanting to get out of the stroller and play more lately. These are pictures and a video of him doing just that on the hanging bar at the school.

Playing at Washington Park with Daddy

We took a trip to Washington Park last weekend to enjoy the beautiful weather. Grant ended up falling asleep as we got there and slept in the stroller the whole time we were at the park because his nap schedule was really off that day. However, Cecilia got to play with Daddy, which she loved. They ran around and had a lot of fun together, and I even hear they took a pretend trip to Aunt Gaoder and Uncle Alan's house two times!

On the way home, Cecilia was singing "Puff the Magic Dragon".

Cecilia's Haircut

Cecilia's hair has been getting very long and she started asking for a haircut because it was getting in her eyes. So last Saturday, we took her to a kids' salon to get her haircut. She got to sit in a little pink car (which we forgot to get a picture of) and she did a great job sitting still and letting the lady cut her hair. As you can see, the before and after pictures below are quite a bit different, although she still has all of her beautiful curls!

Grant's eye exam

At the beginning of May, we had to take Grant to the eye doctor to get his blocked tear duct checked out. He has had a blocked tear duct since he was born, but we haven't been able to fix it ourselves with massage, so our pediatrician wanted us to take Grant to a pediatric ophthalmologist   to get it checked out. In order to check his eyes completely, Grant had to have his eyes dilated. He did pretty well with his eyes dilated, but you could tell he didn't understand why his vision was different, and he was sensitive to light for about 24 hours.

We have been doing the updated massage since then in the hopes that we can get the issue fixed on our own. However, the doctor only gave us a month (until the beginning of June) to work on it because she has good luck probing the tear ducts to unblock it without having to put the kids under general anesthesia, but only if it is done before they are one.

Playing at the park with Shayla

These are some pictures from Friday, May 17 at Nimitz Park. We met Shayla and Evelyn over there so that the girls could play. As you can see Grant is starting to enjoy playing at the park himself now.

A few videos from the past two weeks (or so)

Cecilia talks about the days of the week

Swinging at Ortega Park

On May 8, we went to Ortega Park to do some swinging.

Playing in the water at Serra Park

At the beginning of May, we enjoyed the beautiful warm weather by taking a trip to the water area of Serra Park. Cecilia doesn't actually like getting wet in the water, but had a lot of fun filling up a water bottle and pouring it out on Mommy's feet.

Grant slept through the visit.

Grant gets to try whipped cream

The night before Grandma Peanut had to go home, we went to Marie Callender for dinner. While we were there, we let Grant try whipped cream for the first time. As you can see from the videos, he loved it!
