"I'm not terrified"

I was going to the bathroom and Laura was dealing with a screaming Grant while Cecilia was in the tub. Suddenly we heard "Daddy! Daddy!" followed by a bloodcurdling scream.

I came over as quick as I could and Cecilia said a large bug was flying around her. I looked up and a sizable spindly spider had lowered itself from the bathroom fan vent. It was building a trap web and before I could get it, it snuck back into the attic somewhere. (We should seal the edge, I guess.)

With tears in her eyes, she looked at me and said "I'm not terrified, Daddy!"

Game Design Workshop

IMVU had some game designers come in and run a game design workshop in the back room of a local restaurant. It was so awesome. We designed a board/card game based on the Rampart video game.

This weekend, while we were working outside, we set up Grant in the Pack'n'Play so that he could be outside with us. As you can see, he and Cecilia had a lot of fun playing together through the mesh of the Pack'n'Play.

They were so cute pressing their hands together. 

Then Grant appeared to be trying to eat the mesh or possibly Cecilia. He is still in the "put everything in my mouth to learn about or play with it" phase.

Grant LOVES his big sister and frequently has huge smiles just for Cecilia.

Cecilia loves helping with the garden

Cecilia loves helping us with the garden. She especially enjoys watering (and overwatering) the plants. As you can see from the middle and last pictures, our garden has some very large plants. The plants on the trellis are sugar snap peas and the tall plant to the right of the trellis is cilantro. The plant you can see behind the cilantro is broccoli. We also have beets, zucchini, bell peppers, cayenne pepper, some other kind of peppers, tomatoes, carrots, eggplant, mustard, and strawberries growing. 

Cecilia "nurses" Baby

In the car on the way to Home Depot this weekend, Cecilia told us that "Baby is SOOOO hungry" and proceeded to "nurse" baby. I wonder where she has seen that? :)

Shayla and her parents got Cecilia 2 pairs of sunglasses for her birthday. I managed to get a couple photos of them both wearing a pair the sunglasses at the park last week. :) They are SO cute together!

This video is a couple weeks old at this point, but it shows Grant standing in his crib. Since this, he has gotten more confident and seems to enjoy standing while holding on to things. It is only a matter of time until we have a walker on our hands...
