Prunes

Today, Cecilia tried prunes for the first time. She seems to have
really liked them, but we will have to see how her next poops are.

Also, we have some pictures and videos from our trip to North Carolina
to post, so I will try to do that later today or tomorrow.

Emily drove over from Winston-Salem today to see Cecilia! They are
both very happy to see one another!

Playing with Great-Grandma Osborn

Cecilia and Mommy flew to western North Carolina yesterday to see her
Great-Grandma Osborn, Great-Aunt Janey, Phyllis, and Grammy. After a
rough night, we are having a good day today.

At the airport, bright and early

Laura and Cecilia are just about to get on a place headed to North Carolina. Hopefully Cecilia sleeps on the plane; she has been awake since 4:30 a.m.

I'll miss them! I intend to spend the week being a bachelor: video games, parties, D&D.

Go Hokies!

In a cave

We hung out in San Francisco a little and found this crazy cave by the ocean. The cave was wet and sandy, and you could hear and see the waves roaring against the rocks.

Cecilia and a water bottle

Cecilia really likes playing with an empty water bottle.

Peas

Cecilia had peas today. She seems to like them about as much as her
Daddy, which is to say not very much. She kept spouting out bites
faster than Mommy could catch them, making a big mess!

Pears

Cecilia had pears for the first time this week. She made a mess with
them, but seemed to enjoy them. Especially when they were mixed with
bananas!

Our little crabby

Our little crabby was feeling a little crabby when Mommy wouldn't let
her play with the phone. Also, for being a 12 month shirt, this is
already pretty much fitting Cecilia. Normally she wears a 6 to 9 month
right now.

Our Very Hungry Caterpillar!

Butternut squash

Cecilia had butternut squash for the first time last week. She seems to like
them, but still not as much as bananas!

Cecilia standing up

Cecilia can't quite stand on her own yet, but if you have her kind of
lean on something and hold on, it looks like she's standing on her
own. Any day now until she can, I would bet.

Cecilia started screaming tonight, for no apparent reason.

Grandma Austin Scaring Cecilia

Cecilia loves to be scared. She jumps, smiles, and laughs.

Cecilia Sitting and Occasionally Blowing Raspberries

Cecilia's corner

Last week we got a crib for Cecilia. We had to move around some
furniture to fit it in, but now Cecilia has her own little corner.
Cecilia seems to enjoy her crib and is sleeping slightly better in it
than she was in her Pack'n'Play.

Sitting up

Cecilia is starting to sit up better on her own. She doesn't have to
use her arms quite as much to hold herself up. She is also constantly
crunching up with her abs, trying to sit up on her own. I have no
doubt that she will pull herself up sometime soon now.

Grandma Austin's Visit

For the last week, we have had Grandma Austin visiting us. We have had
a lot of fun with her, including going to The Mystery Spot and the
Santa Cruz Boardwalk. We can't believe it has been a week already and
are sad to see Grandma leave!

Friday, October 1, 2010

On Wednesday, Cecilia had bananas for the first time. She was fed by Grandma Austin, who is out visiting for the week. As you can see, Cecilia started out loving bananas, and she seems to enjoy them more and more each day she has them.

Cecilia shaking her rattle

Last Sunday, we went out to lunch. While we were there, Cecilia was going crazy with her rattle. :)

Mystery Spot

My mom is in town and she went to Mystery Spot when she was 5 so we decided to check it out. It seemed like it would be cheesy, but it was actually pretty neat.
