And the arcade...

As much as arcades are declining, this one was pretty decent. Here is
Andy getting waxed by the computer.

Friends having a good time

Joe tried to cheat on this hole and take a shortcut out of bounds.

Minigolf at Malibu Grand Prix

Some friends and I visited Malibu Grand Prix, a miniature golf course
and arcade off 101. Here is the course at sunset.

Samantha working

As tiny as this room is, both Mike and Sam have computers.

Mike's Apartment for the summer

This is where Mike is living while he works at Microsoft. It's a
pretty tiny hotel room. As much as he's enjoying his internship, he's
looking forward to going back to Ames.

The Sound

A view of the water in the Puget Sound. Cruise ship on the right.

Pike's Market

Walked through the MADNESS of Pike's market in Seattle. Lots of
activity!

Downtown Bellevue

Finished dinner at the cheesecake factory and found a huge nice mall
in downtown Bellevue. We didn't spend as much as Samantha. ;)

Origami

The Bellevue mall had this sweet origami exhibit. This was one of many
displays.

Ducks

Lake Sammamish

In Seattle, hanging out at Lake Sammomish after breakfast.

We are in Seattle for the weekend

I walk by this defunct water tower every day on my way to work.

My work space

I spend much of my time here. Programming and dancing at the desk.
Hacking and thinking in the chair.

Uncle Ron's New Hammock

Krista got Uncle Ron a camping hammock and he's been sleeping in it
all the time.

Hot tub every day

We got in the ocean, pool, and hot tub every day. Here are the men
enjoying the hot tub on the last day.

Last day at the beach

It's our last day at the beach -- we're preparing for our family photo.

Shrimp

As tradition, we bought a bucket of steamed shrimp. This is the family
digging in.

Amazing sand castle

This is an amazing sand castle we saw while riding horses up the beach.

Horseback Riding!

We went horseback riding up the beach! This was my first time but
Laura, Mom, and Megan are experienced.

Shopping for gifts after dinner

I had a pound of crab legs on top of shrimp, scallops, and crab legs.
Yum!

Pool

Getting schooled by my brother Alan in pool.

Finally some great beach weather! We followed our typical

Cape Hatteras Lighthouse

After a day of swimming (in the ocean and the pool) we're about to
climb the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.

At the beach house!

We arrived at the beach house! It's huge. We're probably going
swimming soon.

Morris Farmer's Market

At the Morris Farmer's Market on the way to the Outer Banks. Decent
produce, but it's better in Mountain View. Nonetheless, the strawberry
and peach ciders were amazing.

Austin Garage

The Austin grandparents have a livable 2nd floor in their additional garage. It is perfect for the grandkids when they come visit.

Molly's resting place

Molly's ashes are buried next to St. Francis at "the farm".

Gramma's and Grampa's Ranch

After 6 hours driving in the beautiful Appalacians, we arrived at the
Austin grandparents' ranch. I think we'll be spreading Molly's ashes
tonight. She loved it here.

Grandma and Laura

We decided to try on some silly glasses today. Mine say Pirates (Pittsburgh) and Grandma's say Happy Birthday with a 90 on them.

Grandma's glasses

Sitting out in the sun this morning, Grandma was modeling her glasses for us.

Fried fish for lunch

Grandpa is frying up some fish for fish sandwiches. He caught the fish
in Canada. Every year a bunch of hardy old men go up to Canada -- in
the dead of winter -- and fish and eat. 50 miles from civilization!

Fruit

Eating a pile of blueberries and cherries every day. My grandparents
are always eating fruit -- I think I got it from them.

Last night in Pittsburgh

We're getting ready for bed, both of us playing on our laptops.

Good conversation

Three generations of women in my family amused by something in the
kitchen.
