Halloween

Here we are, waiting for Daddy to get ready to go trick-or-treating tonight. Cecilia was really excited, but didn't really know why to be excited. She just seemed to know that something was happening, somehow.

Cecilia kept running up to me and trying to see and hold the camera.

Not quite sure what to do, so she had to hold onto Daddy's fingers. She was really excited to walk around and hold her little pumpkin.

Cecilia and all of the candy she got from the 10 or so houses we went to. Cecilia got really good at saying hello, grabbing candy, and then trying to run away to go to the next house.

Beach Weekend in Aptos

This past weekend, we went to Aptos, CA to spend the weekend at a beach house with some friends and family. Alan and Gaoder joined us, along with Rusty and Julie, and Curtis, Becca, and Kedric (who is almost 5 months old). We had an amazing time with them and really had a relaxing weekend.

The view from the house was amazing. We were high enough off of the beach that we could see a long way in all directions, yet close enough to walk to the beach and even to hear the waves crashing on the beach.

Cecilia really enjoyed seeing and playing with "baby" aka Kedric. She is still not very good at gentle touches, but hopefully Kedric didn't mind too much. Here they are holding hands on Saturday morning while both in their PJs.

After Kedric went to take a nap, Cecilia took over his Bumbo and really seemed to enjoy sitting and playing in it. It's hard to believe that this time last year, she was regularly sitting in it to eat. What a difference a year makes!

Later on Saturday, we went down to the beach to hang out. When we got down there, Cecilia immediately found the bubbles (although how she knew they were in the bag, I'm really not sure) and wanted to play with them. She still doesn't quite know what to do with them though, and ended up eating the bubble solution, along with sand that she poured into the bowl.

Later it was time to head down to the water to check it out. Amazingly, the water was not too cold this weekend and it was actually tolerable to go in a little bit. Cecilia checked out the water at first, and then seemed to decide that she liked it and wanted to go in more. We heard a lot of "wa-wa, wa-wa" this weekend!

Later on, we saw a sea otter swimming around and were able to get a few pictures of it. At first, we thought it might be a dog, but it quickly became apparent that it was not.

Cecilia missed the sea otter though, because she had fallen asleep in Daddy's arms. I guess running around the beach and jumping in the waves are enough to tire her out! :)

While we were at the beach, Alan and Gaoder had a little sand fight. Although, what that really meant was Alan had sand and was trying to throw it on Gaoder as she ran away.

Later on, we watched Kedric do some tummy time. He does a great job and holds his head up very well!

I brought Cecilia's dinosaur costume so that we could show it to everyone and to give me another try at getting some pictures of Cecilia in it. She seemed to like her costume, so hopefully she will want to wear it for trick-or-treating tonight!

One last visit to the beach before we had to leave on Sunday. You can see that we learned our lesson and took off Cecilia's pants before letting her play in the water. She had a lot of fun this weekend and ended up falling asleep in the car on the way home. She actually slept for almost 4 hours, which is just about unheard of for her. It was a great end to a wonderful weekend!
