During my wiring project I found an old issue of the San Jose Mercury News in the wall. I figured out it's from 1978. :)

It's older than me and the bay area was quite a bit different back then!

Swimming again

We went over to Alan and Gaoder's apartment to go swimming again tonight. Cecilia is modeling her other new swimsuit here. She has been acting really goofy the last few days, as you can see from the picture of her looking over her shoulder. Once we got to Alan and Gaoder's apartment, Cecilia got to play with her new turtle floaty in the pool. She loved it and really enjoyed her time swimming!!

Home Depot!

Cecilia is always really excited when she gets to go to Home Depot. With all the wiring work Chad has been doing, we have made a lot of trips to get or return stuff there. Now Cecilia gets excited every time she sees a Home Depot sign (and she doesn't ever seem to miss one!). Grammy and Paca have heard Cecilia talk about Home Depot, and bought her an apron there so she can have a tool belt (or more likely toy belt) of her own. You can see, she loves her new apron.

Hearst Castle

After a FOGGY drive down the coast yesterday and spending the night in a hotel last night, we went to Hearst Castle with Alan, Gaoder, Bryan, Jess, and Jared today. It started off pretty foggy at sea level, but as you can see it turned into a pretty nice day "up on the hill" where the house is. We all had a lot of fun, got to see the main entertaining rooms of the house, as well as a bunch of the guest rooms and the private rooms of William Randolph Hearst. It was a good work out, as we probably climbed up or down about 500 stairs or so today, but well worth it to see everything. We also had time to relax by the Neptune Pool, which is in one of the pictures. Cecilia enjoyed herself, but got pretty tired from everything (including getting herself up at 7 this morning), so she ended up taking 2 naps, one poolside and one in the car on the 3 1/2 hour drive home. All in all, it was a great day!!

Cecilia "Reading" Spooky Old Tree

Jared got Cecilia a copy of the Berenstain Bears and The Spooky Old Tree for Christmas, and Cecilia loves it. At this point she's basically memorized the entire thing.  Here's a video of her reading it with Mommy:

Swimming!

Today was a really nice day and Gaoder and Alan invited us over to use
the swimming pool at their apartment complex. It was a nice relaxing
end to the weekend and Cecilia got to wear her new bathing suit. She
loved swimming and jumping in, as well as walking back and forth from
Mommy in the pool to Daddy in the hot tub. Cecilia really did not want
to leave when it was time to go home for dinner. I have a feeling we
will be back to swim again throughout the summer!!
