Swim Day!
Last Saturday we went to a local pool. We didn't bring a camera but here are some pictures from when we got ready.
Cecilia LOVED riding the kid water slide. She probably went down it 20 times. Grant likes the pool but I think it mostly made him tired. On the way home, he fell asleep within about three minutes.

7th anniversary dinner
Laura and I went to dish dash for our 7th while Gaoder watched the kids. Dinner was so good! Then we went to a used book store up the street and it inspired me to work on the stack of books by my bed.
Poor girl
Cecilia spent midday playing in the water at Ortega Park and the sunscreen must have washed off... At least she didn't seem bothered by it. She also had two splinters. We removed the bigger one and one in Laura's hand.

Grant walks along the parallel bars at the park
On Saturday, Grant was walking along the parallel bars at the park. He seems to really enjoy practicing his walking while holding onto things. He seems to enjoy being independent, but is still scared to try to stand or walk on his own. Except in the bathtub, which is only slightly terrifying!

Grant rides his horsey
For his birthday, Grandma Peanut and Paca Peanut bought Grant a new bouncy horse. He has taken a little bit of time to understand how to use it, but he seems to enjoy jumping on it now!
More photos from Grandma Peanut's Visit
Grant is now tall enough to reach the handles of the doors.
Flying Cecilia's kite at the park
While we were talking and watching the kite flying, Cecilia started doing somersaults without her hands. She basically just tucks her head and falls towards the ground.
Cecilia loved getting to paint with water on the pages from her new art book. We didn't have a brush for Grandma Peanut though, so she had to use a q-tip.
Grant's Birthday
On the 13th, we celebrated Grant's 1st birthday. Here are a bunch of photos and videos from the day so that everyone that was not be able to join us can see the birthday boy!
The Manors got Grant his own chair for his birthday. He loves sitting in it and diving into it, and Cecilia is very happy that she doesn't have to share her chair anymore!
Some of the decorations. We went with a jungle theme for the party.
Here is the adorable cake that Sue decorated for us.
The food
During the party, Paca Peanut was feeding Grant watermelon. You can see the reaction when he stopped feeding Grant and went to get him out of his high chair...
Unfortunately, we had a couple families that were not able to come to Grant's party. So Shayla and Evelyn were the only people that ended up coming, other than family. Cecilia and Shayla had a blast together, as usual.
Apparently, Cecilia and Shayla were also doing the "Grandma Peanut dance" which mostly consists of Cecilia doing somersaults on the wood floors and Shayla rolling on the floor, trying to do a somersault.
Our birthday boy
Grant is waiting for everyone to come over to sing. He's not sure what to think of everything yet...
He tried his cake, and wasn't quite sure what to think of it yet.
Grant was eating tiny crumbs with each bite.
Cecilia loved her cake!
So did Shayla!
We looked over after a while of Grant seemingly picking at his cake to discover that he had eaten A LOT more than we thought! He probably ended up eating more cake than his older sister did!
Later, Grant opened some of his presents. He seemed more interested in the paper than the toys.
Cecilia got to open a few presents from Aunt Kathi too.
She loves her bubbles
And her bath time butterflies and net!
Alan and Gaoder got Grant some cute books, including a Cheerios book.
Later that night, Grandma Peanut and Paca Peanut helped Grant practice standing up on his own. He can do it, briefly, as long as he doesn't think about doing it. As soon as he thinks about it, he seems to get a little scared and falls or sits himself down.
