The boys being adventurous at the playground

On Saturday, the boys were getting adventurous on the playground at Nimitz.

It started with Grant hanging off the bridge...

...Lucas started watching...

...and then Lucas was hanging off the bridge too...

...and then Grant helped Lucas down when he got stuck and didn't know how to get down.

Quality time with Lucas

Last week, before they both went back to school, Cecilia and Grant both spent some extra time with Lucas.

Grant spent some time reading with Lucas. Lucas loves when his siblings read to him!

Cecilia and Lucas enjoyed snuggling and watching Pokémon together.

Trying to sneak into class

Today, Lucas tried to sneak into kindergarten with Grant. I think that he is really missing Grant and Cecilia during the day. I remember when Grant used to do the same thing with Cecilia's class 2 years ago.

First days

Monday was a day of firsts. It was Grant's first day of Kindergarten and Cecilia's first day of 2nd grade. It also happened to be the first day of work at Facebook for Chad.

As usual, I made signs for the kids for their first day of school. When I was making the signs for the kids, Chad asked where his first day sign was, so I also made him one. Chad had to leave earlier than the kids to get to work, so we had them get ready early so we could get a photo of all them together before Chad had to leave.

After Chad left, we took more of our traditional first day of school photos.

You can tell that they are both really excited for school!

Lucas was still sleeping until we were walking out the door to take the kids to school, so this was the only photo of him that I have.

This is one of our neighbors, Lorelei. The girls are pretty excited because this is the first year that they are together in class.

And of course our traditional photos with Cecilia and Shayla. It is crazy that they are in first and second grades this year! They have been friends since before they were 2!

Lucas didn't know what to do with himself all day on Monday with everyone gone. He had gotten used to having his siblings home all summer to play with him all the time. And he was used to Daddy being home for the past 5 weeks. He kept asking me "Daddy is? Ya Ya (Cecilia) is? Ant (Grant) is?" Then when we went to go get Cecilia and Grant at the end of the school day he was SO excited and just ran around the playground following them.
