On October 19th, I took the kids to the CCNS Fall Festival. Daddy was busy with some things at home, so it was just the kids and me there. It was a lot of fun (until the meltdown as we were getting ready to leave) and it was nice to see such a good turnout of other CCNS families!
First, they had wagons set up for "wagon rides" around the big play structure.
On October 18th, we celebrated not one or two, but 4 birthdays at 2 different parties!
First, in the morning was Shayla's 4th and Annabella's 1st birthdays!
They had gotten a bounce house for the party, and this was the first year that Grant enjoyed being in it. In the past, Grant would get in and then not like it because he was too unsteady. This time, he LOVED it and was running around and bouncing like crazy!
The big girls were busy running around and playing, but I got some time to hang out with Annabella. She was a little overwhelmed by all the people around, most of whom she didn't know (or remember). So she was happy to let me hold her while she watched everyone else, since she knows me well from our weekly time together when the girls are at preschool.
Annabella was very tentative with her cake. First she barely touched it.
Then Johnny helped her by putting her hand on the cake.
And she mashed it up.
Annabella ended up SMASHING the cake down, but didn't really seem interested at all in eating any of it. It was one of the cutest things I have seen.
Next it was time for the pinata!
Later, after the kids got their naps, (Grant for almost 3 hours!) we headed over to Alan and Gaoder's joint 30th birthday party. It was a lot of fun to see everyone and the food was good (or so I have been told, as it was BBQ and I didn't eat much of it). The kids also had a lot of fun running around in Laura and Gerad's (good friends of Alan's and Gaoder's) backyard.
Grant got some root beer to drink at the party and LOVED it!
On October 17th, we had our usual trip to Nimitz and then we went to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner.
We are very thankful for how well our kids eat! They both like vegetables and eat a real variety of foods. Plus they will both typically try new things, which is great! Sweet Tomatoes is a great restaurant because they have a huge salad bar, so the kids get to try new things in small amounts and they both eat A LOT there. Plus, right now, Grant is free!
