Happy Hollow

The day after Grant's baptism, we went to Happy Hollow with Paca Peanut, Grandma Peanut, and Auntie Megan. It was a lot of fun! We got to ride some rides, see some interesting animals, and just had a good day!

We all rode the carousel, except Chad who was the photographer.

Here we all are. Gregg rode a lemur and Megan rode a triceratops while the rest of us rode on the bench.

 Measuring "wing-span" Megan's was 5'10" (or about as much as a turkey vulture)

Cecilia's "wing-span" is about 2'7" (or about as much as a Cooper's Hawk)

Grant's "wing-span" is about 2' (slightly larger than an American Kestrel). We will have to continue to measure the kids as they get bigger. 

I can't remember the name of this animal, but it is a large rodent. Like a 3' cousin to a rat. Ewww!

Grant's Baptism

The reason that everyone came out to visit was for Grant's baptism on April 21. Here are some photos from that day.

Father had us do some parts of the baptism ceremony before mass started. We asked Megan (Chad's sister) and Jared (a good friend of ours) to be Grant's godparents.

You can see Cecilia sitting on the floor behind the baptismal font here. She was upset because we wouldn't let her climb up on the altar and play.

Grant took a nap once the baptism was over.

Grant REALLY wanted to touch and grab the cake. I guess his first birthday will be very messy if he wants to grab that cake too!
